1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access or use LangGenie, including the mobile application, website, learning content, AI tutor conversations, credit purchases, referral features, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing credits, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use LangGenie.
2. Who may use LangGenie
You must be at least 13 years old to use LangGenie. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for making sure your use of the Service is lawful in your location.
3. Accounts and security
You may need an account to use certain features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless the activity results from our failure to protect the Service.
4. Learning features and AI tutor sessions
LangGenie helps learners practice vocabulary, sentences, grammar, revision, quizzes, pronunciation, and AI tutor conversations. AI-generated explanations, examples, translations, corrections, transcripts, and feedback may contain mistakes or may not match every regional usage. You should review important language, academic, professional, immigration, medical, legal, or safety-related information with a qualified human source before relying on it.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, sexually exploitative, discriminatory, infringing, deceptive, or intended to bypass safety systems. You must not use LangGenie to harass others, generate spam, impersonate another person, reverse engineer the Service, overload our systems, or interfere with the Service.
5. User content
"User Content" means information you provide to LangGenie, such as selected learning goals, custom conversation topics, typed messages, spoken input, quiz answers, ratings, support requests, and profile details. You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant LangGenie a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and use User Content as needed to provide, protect, improve, and support the Service.
You are responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights needed to provide it. Do not share sensitive personal information, confidential information, or information about others unless you have permission and it is necessary for your learning use.
6. Credits, purchases, and payments
LangGenie uses credits for AI tutor sessions and other AI-powered features. Credit usage may vary based on tutor type, conversation length, voice or text mode, AI usage, and technical factors. The app may show estimated practice time, but estimates are not guaranteed.
Credit bundles are one-time purchases unless clearly stated otherwise. Credits are added to your account after successful payment validation. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law or by the applicable App Store, Google Play, payment provider, or platform policy. Credits expire after 12 months of account inactivity.
Payments may be handled by Apple, Google, card processors, or other payment providers. Those providers may apply their own terms, fees, taxes, refund rules, chargeback procedures, and payment processing requirements. LangGenie does not store full payment card numbers.
7. Referrals, rewards, and achievements
LangGenie may offer referral rewards, achievements, points, levels, streaks, or other motivational features. Rewards have no cash value unless expressly stated. We may change, pause, limit, or end reward programs when needed to prevent fraud, abuse, technical issues, or business changes.
8. App stores and third-party services
If you download LangGenie through Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to the applicable store terms. LangGenie may rely on third-party services for hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting, payment validation, AI processing, speech processing, and security. Third-party services are not controlled by LangGenie, and their own terms and policies may apply.
9. Intellectual property
LangGenie, including the app design, website, logo, software, learning flow, original text, graphics, databases, and other materials, is owned by LangGenie or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own language learning. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, modify, distribute, or create competing services from LangGenie materials unless we give written permission.
10. Service changes and availability
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or limit features from time to time. We work to keep LangGenie available, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or network.
11. Account suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, used the Service fraudulently or unlawfully, created risk for LangGenie or other users, or if continued service is not commercially or technically feasible. You may stop using the Service at any time. To request account deletion, contact support@langgenie.net.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, LangGenie disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation. LangGenie is an educational practice tool and does not guarantee fluency, exam results, job outcomes, academic outcomes, or specific learning results.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LangGenie will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruptions, or unauthorized access. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to LangGenie in the three months before the claim or USD 50.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold LangGenie harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when our Service, legal requirements, or business practices change. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of LangGenie after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
